What is Polyvinyl Alcohol / Poly(vinyl alcohol)?
Polyvinyl alcohol is an organic compound with the chemical formula of C2H4O. its appearance is a white flake, flocculent or powdery solid and tasteless. Soluble in water (above 95 ºC), slightly soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide, insoluble in gasoline, kerosene, vegetable oil, benzene, toluene, dichloroethane, carbon tetrachloride, acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethylene glycol, etc.
Applications：
1.Adhesives: PVA based adhesives are widely used due to their good adhesive properties, especially for bonding porous materials such as wood, paper, and fabric.
2.Textile Industry: Polyvinyl alcohol polymer is used as a sizing agent for textile fibers.
3.Paper Industry: PVA is used as a coating agent and an adhesive in the paper industry. As a coating agent, it improves the surface strength, ink - receptivity, and water resistance of paper. As an adhesive, it is used to bond paper layers, in the production of corrugated cardboard.
