What is Ferrocene CAS 102-54-5 ?

Ferrocene is an organic transition metal compound with aromatic properties. Its chemical formula is Fe(C5H5)2. It is an orange powder with camphor odor at room temperature. Melting point 172ºC-174ºC, boiling point 249ºC, above 100ºC can sublimate; Insoluble in water, organic solvents.
It is chemically steady and poisonousless, not reacting with acid, alkail and ultraviolet. It doesn't decompose until 400°C. Mixed with Ferrocene, the diese oil can be preserved for a long use.

Applications：

1. Added to petrol, diesel and jet fuel as fuel additives to improve combustion efficiency, reduce engine knock and carbon deposition.
2. Used in solid rocket propellants to reduce smoke emissions and improve combustion stability.
