What is Benzyl Cinnamate ?
Benzyl Cinnamate is white or light yellow crystalline. Insoluble in water, ethylene glycol and glycerol, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. It is naturally found in Peruvian balsam, Tulu balsam, benzoin paste, thuja paste, etc. It can be extracted by extraction method. It is used in the food industry as an ester synthetic flavor and as a UV absorber.
Applications:
1. 99% Benzyl cinnamate is used as ester synthetic fragrance with similar aroma of Sulphur balsam, and also used as soap fragrance, and also used to blend apricot, cherry, pineapple and other fruity edible flavors for food industry.
2. It can be used as ultraviolet absorber, mainly used in sunscreen and tanning cosmetics.
