What is Plant Growth Regulator 1-Naphthaleneacetic Acid?
1-Naphthalene Acetic Acid is a white crystalline powder, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in hot water, soluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, acetone, benzene, acetic acid and chloroform; stable in nature, but easily deliquescent, discoloration when exposed to light, and should be kept away from light.
Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) is a synthetic plant growth promoter with a wide range of uses in agriculture, it has the effect of increasing tillering and improving spike rate in cereal crops, reducing buds and bolls, increasing weight and improving quality in cotton, flowering, preventing fruit drop and increasing yield in fruit trees, preventing flower drop and promoting root growth in fruits and vegetables, is virtually non-toxic to mammals, and has no impact on public health.
Uses of 1-Naphthalene Acetic Acid:
1.NAA can promote cell division and expansion
