Uses
Solvent: Diisopropyl ether is a good solvent for animal, plant and mineral grease, paraffin and resin, used in pharmaceuticals, smokeless gunpowder, paint and paint cleaning, etc. It is also used in the concentration and recovery of dilute solution of acetic acid or butyric acid.
Extractant: Used as extraction solvent of sodium thiocyanate in wet acrylic process, also extractant for chromatographic analysis.
Gasoline additive: Diisopropyl ether has high octane number and anti-freezing performance, and can be used as gasoline blending agent.
