Plastics industry
1. It is used to produce polystyrene PS. General purpose polystyrene is used for items such as disposable tableware, CD and DVD cases, and packaging. High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is made by copolymerizing styrene with small amounts of rubber, such as polybutadiene, and is used in appliance housings, toys, and automotive interiors.
2. Styrene is one of the three monomers of ABS resin. It is used for automotive parts such as instrument panels and bumpers, electronic equipment housings such as computer monitors and keyboards, and plumbing fixtures.
3.SAN is copolymerized from styrene and acrylonitrile. It has good chemical resistance, transparency and strength, and can be used for food containers, cosmetic packaging and household products.
