Properties of Organic Intermediate 2-Butene-1,4-diol
Colorless liquid. Freezing point 11.8℃. Boiling point 84℃(0. 133kPa). Relative density 1.070. refractive index (5) 1. 4770. viscosity (20℃) 22Pa -s. flash point (open cup) 128℃. Soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, almost insoluble in low-grade aliphatic hydrocarbons or aromatic hydrocarbons. It can participate in esterification, alkylation, cyclization, substitution, addition and isomerization reactions.
Uses of BDO Colorless liquid
1 Used as a solvent and humectant, also used in the manufacture of plasticizers, pharmaceuticals, polyester resins, polyurethane resins and so on.
2 Used as reagent for chromatographic analysis, also used in organic synthesis.
3 Used as additives Chaining agent and polyester raw materials for the production of polyurethane elastomers and flexible polyurethane foam; BDO has good moisture absorption and flexibility, can be used as a gelatin softener and absorbent, but also used as a treatment agent for cellophane and other unused paper.
4. 2-Butene-1,4-diol can also be used to prepare N-methyl pyrrolidone, N-vinyl pyrrolidone and other pyrrolidone derivatives, and can also be used in the preparation of vitamin B6, pesticides, herbicides and solvents, plasticizers, lubricants, moisturizers for various processes, softeners, adhesives and brighteners for the electroplating industry.
