What Is Calcium Diascorbate or Calcium Ascorbate?
Calcium Diascorbate is a salt form of vitamin C (ascorbic acid), formed by combining ascorbic acid with calcium. It is commonly used as a dietary supplement for vitamin C, possessing similar biological activity to ascorbic acid. However, compared to ascorbic acid, it has a lower acidity, making it easier to be absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract without causing gastric discomfort. Calcium Ascorbate is also utilized as an antioxidant and preservative in food and beverages.
Application of Calcium Diascorbate Raw material:
1. It is used as a preservative for fruits and vegetables and as an antioxidant for ham, meat and buckwheat flour.
2. It is used as a non-ionic surface activator and nutrient for skin and hair care.
3. Used as a bactericide for lens cleaning.
4. As a calcium salt, used in teas and beverages to prevent osteoporosis and lower blood pressure.
5. Research results also show that Vc-Ca can prevent the synthesis of DNA in cancer cells and inhibit malignant tumors, and can be used in the clinical adjuvant treatment of cancer.
