L-Calcium lactate is an organic salt. It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water at room temperature.
Solubility: L-Calcium lactate has good solubility in water and easily dissolves to form lactate ions (C3H5O3^-) and calcium ions (Ca2+).
Thermal stability: Calcium lactate pentahydrate loses crystallization water when heated and turns into anhydrous calcium lactate (Ca(C3H5O3)2). At high temperatures (about 160-200°C), anhydrous calcium lactate can decompose into calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and carbon dioxide (CO2).
