High Purity 99% Isopropyl alcohol or 2-Propanol , is an organic compound with the chemical formula of C3H8O. It is an isomer of n-propanol. It is a colorless transparent liquid with the smell of a mixture of ethanol and acetone. It is soluble in water, alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform and other organic solvents. Isopropanol is an important chemical product and raw material, which is mainly used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, plastics, spices, coatings, etc.
Application of Isopropyl alcohol(IPA):
As a chemical raw material, it produces acetone, hydrogen peroxide, methyl isobutyl ketone, diisobutyl ketone, isopropylamine, isopropyl ether, isopropyl chloride, isopropyl esters of fatty acids and isopropyl esters of chlorinated fatty acids.
As a solvent, it is a relatively cheap solvent in industry. It is widely used. It can mix freely with water. The solubility of lipophilic substances is stronger than that of ethanol. It can be used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, rubber, paint, wormwood, alkaloids and so on.
In the electronic industry, it can be used as cleaning agent and degreasing agent.
In the petroleum industry, cottonseed oil extractant can also be used for the degreasing of animal tissue membranes.
