Monoethanolamine (MEA) is colourless transparent viscous liquid at room temperature, with hygroscopicity and ammonia odor. It is miscible with water, ethanol and acetone, slightly soluble in benzene, ether, carbon tetrachloride, ethanol and chloroform. Reacts violently with sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and other strong acids. Reacts with inorganic and organic acids to form esters; flammable, with the danger of burning when exposed to high temperature, open flame or in contact with oxidants.

Uses
- In petroleum refining, natural gas processing and other industries, monoethanolamine is commonly used to remove acidic components in the gas, such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide, in order to purify the gas and prevent equipment corrosion and environmental pollution.
- It is an important raw material for the preparation of nonionic surfactants and anionic surfactants.
- In the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used as an intermediate in drug synthesis for the preparation of a variety of drugs. At the same time, it can also be used as a solvent and pH regulator for drugs.
- In the paint industry, monoethanolamine (MEA) can be used as neutraliser and co-solvent to improve the performance and stability of paints; in metal working fluids, it can play the roles of rust prevention, lubrication and emulsification; in rubber processing, it is used as vulcanisation accelerator and antioxidant.

Storage Requirements:
- Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source.
- It should be stored separately from oxidising agents, acids, etc., and should never be mixed.
