What is Chlorosulfonated Poly(Ethylene)?

Chlorosulfonated Poly(Ethylene) is insoluble in water but soluble in common organic solvents.
Poly(Ethylene )CAS 68037-39-8 is a highly reactive electrophilic reagent with strong acidic properties. It can be reduced to mercaptan by sodium hydride or hydrolyzed to polyvinyl alcohol by alkaline hydrolysis. It reacts with amines containing N-H bonds to form sulfonated amines.
