1,4-butanediol (1,4-BD) is a colorless, also known as 1,4-Butylene Glycol (1,4-BG), viscous liquid derived from butane by placement of alcohol groups at each end of its molecular chain and is one of four stable isomers of butanediol. 1.4-Butanediol (BDO) is a high-quality intermediate. BDO and its derivatives are widely used for producing plastics, solvents, electronic chemicals and elastic fibers. Additionally BDO is also a building block for the synthesis of polyesterpolyols and polyetherpolyols.

Applications：

• 1,4-Butanediol is an important organic chemical and fine chemical raw material. 1,4 BDO is the basic raw material for the production of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) engineering plastics and PBT fibers.
• 1,4-Butanediol is the main raw material for the production of tetrahydrofuran, which is an important organic solvent. Polytetramethylene glycol ether (PTMEG) obtained after polymerization is the basic raw material for the production of high-elastic spandex (Lycra fiber).
• 1,4-Butylene Glycol is also used to prepare vitamin B6, pesticides, herbicides, and solvents, plasticizers, lubricants, humidifiers, softeners, adhesives, and brighteners for electroplating industries in various process steps.
