What is Isopropyl Myristate?
Isopropyl Myristate is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a peculiar odor; it has a low density, dissolves in organic solvents and is insoluble in water; it has a low vapor pressure and a moderate to slow volatility. IPM is commonly used as a solvent and plasticizer, also used in paints, coatings, inks, adhesives and other industries.
Applications of IPA:
1.Iso-Propyl myristate is used in a variety of cosmetics including lipsticks, hair creams, lip balms, cleansing creams and face powders.
2. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as a solvent, emulsifier or matrix. It can enhance the bioavailability and stability of drugs, and is often used in topical medicinal preparations.
