What is Diethyl Malonate?
Diethyl Malonate is a colorless liquid, insoluble in water, but soluble in common organic solvents. It is hydrolyzable and easily reacts with water to form ethanol and malonic acid. Mainly used as a solvent, in paints, coatings, adhesives, films and inks and other industries are widely used.
Uses of Diethyl Malonate 98%:
1. Diethyl Malonate is an important intermediate for synthesizing drugs. It can be used for the synthesis of barbiturates, but also for the synthesis of vitamin B₁, sulfonamides and other drugs.
2. It is used to blend spices with fruit flavor, which can give fresh and sweet aroma to spice products, and has applications in edible spices and daily chemical spices.
3. Used as a solvent, widely used in paints, coatings, adhesives, films and inks and other industries.
