Properties：
Itaconic Anhydride is white crystalline powder, soluble in acetone and chloroform, slightly soluble in ether, hydrolyzed in water.
Itaconic anhydride contains reactive functional groups such as carbon-carbon double bonds and anhydride groups. It is more reactive than maleic anhydride. It can undergo reactions such as esterification and polymerization and can be used to introduce polar functional groups into polymers.
Itaconic Anhydride uses：
1. Itaconic anhydride is often used as a reagent for organic synthesis, especially for acylation and carbonylation reaction. It can be used as esterification agent in organic synthesis, esterification agent of lignin monomer, crosslinking agent of polymer materials, etc..
2. It is the key polymer monomer for the production of synthetic resins, synthetic fibers and ion exchange resins. It can be copolymerized with polylactic acid (PLA) with methacrylate as end group and can be used in packaging and biomedical applications.
3. It is used in the production of surfactants, boiler scale inhibitors, lubrication additives and adhesives.
