What is Diethanolamine (DEA) CAS 111-42-2?
Diethanolamine is a colourless to yellowish viscous liquid or crystal with ammonia smell, soluble in water and ethanol. It is weakly alkaline and can react in many ways. It is used for gas purification, surfactant production, etc. It is toxic and hazardous to human body and environment, and should be stored in a fireproof manner and isolated from other substances.
Applications of Diethanolamine (DEA)：
- Gas purification: Used as acid gas absorber for industrial purification such as coking coal gas.
- Surfactant: It is the raw material for surfactant and emulsifier in the production of detergent, polish, lubricant, softener and other products.
