2-Ethylanthraquinone is light yellow crystal, insoluble in water, soluble in many organic solvents. It is the core catalyst for the production of hydrogen peroxide by the anthraquinone method, and plays a role in the manufacture of dyes and photosensitive resins, and can also be used as a photosensitiser for light-curing coatings and photoresists, and is chemically stable.
