- Solvent: Mono Ethylene Glycol has good solubility and can dissolve many resins, oils, and pigments. It is often used in water-based paints and coatings to adjust the drying rate of the paint film.
- Film-Forming Aid: It can reduce the minimum film-forming temperature of the latex paint, so that the paint can form a good film at room temperature or lower temperatures, improving the adhesion and water resistance of the paint film.
- Antifreeze: In low-temperature environments, ethylene glycol can prevent the paint and coating from freezing.
- Humectant: MEG can absorb moisture from the air and keep the paint film in a relatively humid state for a long time, which is beneficial to the curing and drying of the paint film.
