4,4'-Dihydroxybiphenyl is an aromatic organic compound, and one of three symmetrical isomers of biphenol. It is a colourless crystalline solid with a high melting point. It is primarily used in the production of polymers, particularly liquid crystals where it imparts high thermal stability.
Applications of 4,4'-Dihydroxybiphenyl：
- Rubber antioxidant: mainly used in rubber and latex, it can prevent the aging caused by oxygen and heat, and it also has a certain protective effect on harmful metals.
- Polymer material modification: It is the modified monomer of polyester, polyurethane, polycarbonate, polyphenylsulfone and epoxy resin, etc. It can make excellent engineering plastics and composite materials.
