What Is Erucamide/ cis-13-Docosenoamide?
Erucamide also known as Erucic acid amide,cis-13-Docosenoamide. It is a kind of higher fatty acid amide, which is one of the important derivatives of erucic acid and is refined from vegetable oil. It is a waxy odorless solid, insoluble in water, and soluble in ketones, esters, alcohols, ethers, benzene and other organic fluxes. Due to the long unsaturated C22 chain and polar amino group in the molecular structure, erucamide has excellent surface polarity, high melting point and good thermal stability, and can be widely used in plastics, rubber, printing, machinery and other industries instead of other similar additives. As a processing aid for plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene, it can not only make the products non stick, increase lubrication, but also enhance the thermoplasticity and heat resistance of plastics. Moreover, the products are non-toxic and have been allowed to be used in food packaging materials.
Applications：
1. One of its important usages is to be antisticking, lubricant, release agent and anti-static agent of polyethylene(PE) and polypropylene(PP). And also, it can be used for CPP, BOPP, LDPE, LLDPE, EVA, PVC, PVDF, PVDC, PU film.
2. Erucamide has a good stability at high temperature. It shows a specially wonderful property at higher temperature comparing with other amides.
3. 13-Docosenamide can be used as antisticking, anti-static and lubricant in plastic film (food-grade), cosmetics additives, dispersing agent for printing ink and dye, water-proof and anti-fog agent for paper making and textile industries, foam-stabilizer and metal-wire drawing lubricant.
4. It can be used as a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE, TEO, TPU) and fluorine rubber demoulding agent, surface smooth and bright agent, lubricant of engineering plastics.
