It is a white water-absorbing powder or crystal with a slight formic acid smell. It is soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in ether.
Formic Acid Na Salt can be used to produce formic acid, oxalic acid, formamide and hydrosulfite, as a disguised acid in the leather industry and chrome tanning process, and as a catalyst, etc.

Sodium Formate Applications：
(1) It is mainly used in the production of formic acid, oxalic acid and sodium hydrosulfite, as well as dimethylformamide and other chemicals. It is also used in the pharmaceutical and printing and dyeing industries.
(2) Sodium Formate is used as a reagent for determining phosphorus and arsenic, as a disinfectant and as a mordant.
(3) It is used as a preservative.
(4) It is used in alkyd resin coatings, plasticisers and strong agents.
(5) Formic Acid Na Salt is used as an acid-resistant material, an aviation lubricant and an adhesive additive.
