What is TEG Chemical CAS 112-27-6?

Triethylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, hygroscopic, viscous liquid. It is misciblewith water and ethanol, slightly soluble in ether and almost insoluble in petroleumether. it has oxygen atoms and hydroxyl groups connected with alkyl, so it has theproperties of alcohol and ether.

TEG is primarily produced as a byproduct during the ethylene oxide hydration process, which is used to manufacture ethylene glycol (EG) and diethylene glycol (DEG).
