What is 1,1,1-Tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane(TME)?

Trimethylolpropane (TME) is a high-performance polyol with three primary hydroxyl groups, odorless, free-flowing white crystalline solid. It is an important raw material for the synthesis of polyester resins, polyurethane resins, alkyd resins and other polymer materials. It can also be used in polyester synthetic lubricants, plasticizers, plastic stabilizers and titanium dioxide coatings, etc., which makes the products have excellent weather resistance, light resistance and temperature resistance.

Uses:

1.  1,1,1-Tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane(TME) is an important raw material for synthesizing many kinds of polymer materials such as polyester resin, polyurethane resin, alkyd resin, etc. It can improve the water resistance, heat resistance and weather resistance of the materials.
2. Used in the production of high-performance coatings, which can make the coatings have good gloss, hardness and durability.
3. Trimethylolethane can be used as the intermediate of synthetic lubricant to improve the performance of lubricant.
4. Used in the preparation of surfactants with good emulsification, dispersion and solubilization properties.
