What is Sodium Methylparaben/MPS ?
Sodium methylparaben is a solid powdery substance. It is soluble in water and organic solvents such as alcohols and ethers. Methylparaben sodium salt is an ester compound and has the basic properties of an ester, such as MPS can be used in esterification reactions. It is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis and can be used in the reduction of aldehydes and ketones compounds.
