What is Ivermectin used for?
Ivermectin Tablets are an anti-parasite medication used in the treatment and prevention of heartworm and intestinal worms in horses, sheep, goats, cats, and dogs. It may be used to kill the microfilaria of heartworm in infected animals. This drug is not effective against tapeworms or liver flukes.
It's used to treat or control certain parasitic infections caused by intestinal parasites (hookworms and roundworms) and capillaria.
What animals can be treated with Ivermectin Tablets?
As an anthelmintic ("Dewormer") medication Ivermectin Tablets can be used to treat multiple species of internal and external parasites. Internal parasite species that can be treated with ivermectin include gastrointestinal worms (primarily roundworms) in horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats as well as lungworms in cattle and pigs.
Different animals have different sensitivities and safe doses of ivermectin, especially certain breeds of dogs are more sensitive to ivermectin. Therefore, ensure that the dose is accurate and follow veterinary advice before use.
