
What Is Oxytetracycline?
Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic in the tetracycline family. It is derived from the fermented product of Streptomyces rimosus. Oxytetracycline works by inhibiting protein synthesis in the bacteria. It is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Diplococcus pneumoniae, and Escherichia coli. It also shows action against Chlamydia, Rickettsia, and spirochetes.
Oxyetracycline is an antibacterial drug with prolonged action. Levels in the blood are preserved for at least 4 days, with maximum blood levels up to 4-8 hours after administration, and is effective in the treatment of a wide range of infections. Oxytetracycline has been shown to be effective against the following bacterial infections: Bordetella, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus, Haemophilus, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella Dublin, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.
What is oxytetracycline used for?
1.Respiratory tract infections: used to treat respiratory system diseases such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
2.Digestive tract infection: used to treat gastroenteritis, bacterial dysentery and other digestive tract infections.
3.Urinary tract infections: for the treatment of bacterial infections of the urinary tract such as cystitis and nephritis.
4.Skin and soft tissue infections: used to treat purulent skin infections, traumatic infections and so on.
5.Animal medicine: widely used in the treatment of bacterial infections in domestic animals, such as cattle, pigs, sheep, etc., especially effective in respiratory and digestive tract infections.

It belongs to the tetracycline group etc. It may cause impaired development of teeth and bone and may also cause delayed pregnancy, skin discolouration etc.
In case of severe reactions to treatment, administer in divided doses and wash hands after use.
In case of accidental contact with eyes and on skin, rinse immediately with water.

Avoid light above 25°C, out of reach of children, use within the dosage range for the first time and use up within 28 days.
