What is Ivermectin injection used for?
Ivermectin is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug widely used in veterinary and human medicine. It was originally isolated from Streptomyces avermitilis and belongs to the macrolide class of drugs. Ivermectin enhances the influx of chloride ions by binding to the parasite's glutamate-gated chloride channels, causing hyperpolarization of nerve and muscle cells, which paralyzes and kills the parasite. It has less effect on the nervous system of mammals and is therefore safe for the host at appropriate doses.

What is Ivermectin injection used for in animals?
Treatment and prevention of internal parasitic infections:
- Gastrointestinal nematodes: Effective against a variety of gastrointestinal parasites, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and nematodes.
- Lungworm: Used to treat and prevent lung parasitic infections such as lungworm.
- Heartworm: Used to prevent and treat heart filariasis in dogs, a parasitic disease transmitted by mosquitoes.
- Other endoparasites: such as certain types of schistosomiasis and ascites parasites.
Treatment and control of ectoparasitic infections:
- Mites: including sarcoptes scabies, ear mites and other skin mites, ivermectin is effective in treating sarcoptes scabies and ear mite infections.
- Lice and fleas: used to control these ectoparasites and reduce their harassment of animals.
- Cowhide fly: used to control and eliminate cowhide fly and other parasitic flies, reduce the skin damage and infection caused by maggot infection.
Promote growth and production
- Reduce parasite burden: By effectively controlling parasitic infections, ivermectin helps animals better absorb nutrients, promote growth and improve production performance, especially in beef cattle, dairy cows and poultry.
Deal with specific illnesses
- Skin diseases: In some cases, ivermectin is used to treat skin diseases and allergic reactions caused by parasites.
- Lymphatic filariasis: In some areas, ivermectin is used to control and treat lymphatic filariasis, a disease transmitted by mosquitoes.
