What is Ceftiofur Sodium
Ceftiofur sodium is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, though some consider it a "new generation" cephalosporin. It works by inhibiting cell wall synthesis. It shows bactericidal action against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Pasteurella, Streptococcus, Salmonella, and E. coli. In poultry, it is known to help combat systemic infections like Salmonellosis.
Ceftiofur Sodium Injection is an antibacterial drug used to treat certain infections in horses, livestock animals, and poultry such as day-old chickens or turkeys. It is indicated for the treatment of infections such as shipping fever, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and bovine interdigital necrobacillosis.
