Nylon 6 Production (Caprolactam Route)
Cyclohexane is first oxidized to generate KA oil (cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol mixture). The refined cyclohexanone extracted from KA oil reacts with hydroxylamine to form cyclohexanone oxime.Through Beckmann rearrangement, cyclohexanone oxime is converted into caprolactam.
