CAS 75-09-2 Methylene Chloride (DCM) is an organic compound with a colourless, ether-like smell and a pungent taste. It is formed by replacing hydrogen atoms in methane with chlorine atoms. DCM chemical is slightly soluble in water, but is soluble in ethanol and diethyl ether. It is a non-flammable, low-boiling-point solvent. Its vapour is only moderately combustible. It is often used to replace flammable petroleum ether and diethyl ether.
