What is ?
1,2-Pentadiene is an unsaturated hydrocarbon containing two carbon-carbon double bonds and has two isomers, 1,3-pentadiene and 1,4-pentadiene. It is usually a colourless liquid with a peculiar odour. Difficult to dissolve in water, soluble in organic solvents, such as ethanol, ether, benzene, etc..
It is capable of addition reaction, polymerisation reaction, oxidation reaction, etc., and can react with a variety of reagents.
Applications：
- Synthetic Rubber: 1,2-Pentadiene is one of the important monomers of synthetic rubber, and can be used in the production of a variety of synthetic rubbers such as cis-butadiene rubber and isoprene rubber.
- Fine Chemicals: Used in the synthesis of many fine chemicals, such as spices, pharmaceutical intermediates, pesticide intermediates, etc..
