What is N-Methylolacrylamide NMA?
98% N-Methylolacrylamide is white crystalline solid. Soluble in water, ethanol and ether. NMA CAS 924-42-5 can be used as one of the monomers of polymer synthesis, participating in copolymerization or cross-linking reaction in the polymerization reaction, used in the preparation of polymer materials; can also be used as a chemical cross-linking agent, used for curing or improving the performance of polymers.
Uses:
1. Used as a cross-linking agent in coatings and adhesives, N-Methylolacrylamide can cross-link with other components in coatings or adhesives. It can improve the scrub resistance of coatings and the adhesive strength of adhesives.
2. N-(Hydroxymethyl)acrylamide is used for wrinkle and shrinkage prevention finishing of fabrics, and can also improve the dyeing performance of fabrics.
3. Added to papermaking pulp, it can cross-link with the cellulose fibers in paper to form a network structure, thus improving the strength of paper, such as tensile strength, tear strength and folding resistance.
4. In water treatment, NMA can be used as the monomer of flocculant, copolymerized with other monomers to form polymer flocculant with good flocculation performance, used in the treatment of industrial wastewater and domestic sewage, removing suspended solids, organics and other impurities in the water.
5. In the field of biomedicine, it can be used for the preparation of biomedical materials, such as hydrogel.
