What is Triphenyl phosphate (TPP)?
Triphenyl phosphate is colorless or white needle crystal or crystalline powder, insoluble in water, soluble in benzene, chloroform, ethyl ether, acetone, easily soluble in ethanol, mainly used for engineering plastics, phenolic resin laminates, electrical and automotive parts of the flame retardant, Triphenylphosphate can also be used as cellulose acetate plastic plasticizer.
Uses:
- Flame Retardant: Triphenylphosphate is mainly used as a flame retardant in engineering plastics, phenolic resin laminates, and electrical and automotive components.
- Plasticizer: It is used as a plasticizer in cellulose acetate plastics, reducing flammability as a side effect.
- Other Applications: TPP is used as a softener in synthetic rubber, a raw material for trimethyl phosphate, and a component in hydraulic oils and lubricants.
