What is Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate TKPP CAS 7320-34-5?

TKPP is a colorless or white crystal or granular powder It is soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol. It can be chelated with alkaline metals ions or heavy metal ions.

Used as quality improver,sequestrant,emulsifier,and texturizer.Potassium pyrophosphate is an excellent protein modifier for meats. Recommended for use in low sodium meats. Highly soluble in aqueous solutions. Excellent deflocculating/dipsersion propertie.

Uses：

• Food Industry: Tkpp is used as an emulsifier, texture modifier, chelating agent, stabilizer, and quality improver. It can prevent the formation of struvite in canned aquatic products and the discoloration of canned fruits, increase the expansion degree of ice cream, the yield of ham and sausage, and the water retention of ground fish. Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate can also improve the taste and increase the yield of noodle products and prevent cheese from aging.
• Electroplating Industry: It is used in cyanide-free electroplating as a complexing agent and pretreatment agent for electroplating, as well as in pyrophosphate electroplating baths.
• Detergent Industry: Tkpp is used to formulate high-grade detergents, metal surface cleaners, bottle cleaners and various detergent additives.
• Other Industries: ITetrapotassium Pyrophosphate is used as a clay dispersant in the ceramic industry, a dispersant and buffer for pigments and dyes. In the dyeing and bleaching industry,  is used to remove a small amount of ferric ions in water to improve the dyeing and bleaching quality. It can also be used as a stabilizer for hydrogen peroxide and a complexing agent for alkaline electroless nickel plating and electroplating nickel.
