1-Propanol is a colorless organic solvent with the characteristic odor of alcohols. It can dissolve water, ethers, ketones and many organic substances. N-propyl alcohol is widely used in industry as a solvent in the manufacture of paints, coatings, detergents, dyes and pigments.
Uses of N-Propanol:
1.N-propyl alcohol is widely used as a solvent in the production of water-based printing inks, floor polishes, metal degreasers, adhesives, and is also used in the extraction of tea saponin from camellia seed meal.
2. It is used to synthesize esters, ethers and other organic compounds, such as propyl acetate, which is used as a solvent in flexographic inks.
3. 99% 1-Propanol is used to produce various drugs, and is a component of topical alcohol, hand sanitizers, and is also used as a preservative and in inhalant products.
