What is Methyl Acetate (MAC)?
Methyl Acetate is an organic compound with the molecular formula C3H602, it can be soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether, but almost insoluble in water; Methyl acetate has a strong acetic acid odor, and has good solubility and volatility. MAC is mainly used as an organic solvent and is a raw material for paints, artificial leather and spices.
Uses:
1.Methyl Acetate is widely used as an organic solvent in the production of resins, coatings, inks, adhesives, and leather.
2. MAC is an important intermediate for the synthesis of acetic anhydride, methyl acrylate, vinyl acetate, ethyl amide, etc.
3. It can be used as an extraction agent for extracting oils and fats.
4.Methyl acetate is used as a foaming agent for polyurethane foam.
5.It can be used as a chromatographic analysis standard substance.
