What is Cyclohexane CAS 110-82-7?
Cyclohexane is a colourless liquid with irritating odour at room temperature, insoluble in water, miscible with ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene and other organic solvents. It has the general properties of alkanes, relatively stable chemical properties, under normal conditions do not react with strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidants. Cyclohexane liquid is used as a solvent for rubber, paint, varnish, a diluent for adhesives.
Applications：
- For paint: Cyclohexane is a commonly used solvent in the paint industry, particularly for dissolving or thinning paint, lacquers, and varnishes.
- As a solvent, cyclohexane chemical is used to dissolve cellulose ethers, lacquers, resins, fats, waxes, oils, bitumen, and crude rubber.
- It is also used in the production of perfumes, surface coating applications (lacquers), the synthesis of adipic acid for nylon 66 and engineering plastics, the synthesis of caprolactam in nylon 6, paint and varnish remover, and the extraction of essential oils.
- Analytical chemistry uses it for molecular weight determinations in the manufacturing of adipic acid, benzene, cyclohexyl chloride, nitrocyclohexane, cyclohexanol, and cyclohexanone.
- In addition, it is used in the industrial recrystallization of steroids, organic synthesis, recrystallizing medium glass substitutes, solid fuels, analytical chemistry, and the production of adhesives.
