CAS 104-76-7 2-Ethylhexanol (2-EH), or isooctanol, is a fatty alcohol, an organic compound used in the manufacture of a variety of products. It is a branched, eight-carbon alcohol. It is a clear, colorless liquid that is nearly insoluble in water, but well soluble in most organic solvents.
The primary use of 2-ethylhexanol is in the manufacture of the diester bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), a plasticizer. Because it is a fatty alcohol, esters of 2-ethylhexanol tend to have emollient properties.

Applications：
1. 2-Ethylhexanol/2-EH is primarily used to produce plasticisers, which are added to polymers to make them more flexible, durable and easier to process. These plasticisers are widely used in the production of PVC products such as vinyl flooring, cables and hoses.
2. CAS 104-76-7 Isooctyl Alcohol is also used as a solvent in the production of coatings, adhesives and other chemicals.
3. 2-Ethylhexanol is also used as a fuel additive to improve the cetane number of diesel fuels, resulting in enhanced combustion efficiency and reduced emissions.
