What is 4-Chloro-3,5-dimethylphenol (PCMX)?
4-Chloro-3,5-dimethylphenol is white to light yellow crystalline solid; soluble in alcohol, ether, chloroform and strong alkali aqueous solution, slightly soluble in water; stable at room temperature, incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. It has certain antibacterial activity and can be used as fungicide and antiseptic.
Uses：
1. As a disinfectant and antiseptic, it can be used to disinfect the skin and mucous membranes, as well as to treat burns and disinfect the skin before surgery, and also to disinfect surgical instruments, thermometers, tableware and fruits.
2. Chloroxylenol (PCMX) is the main antiseptic ingredient in daily-use chemicals such as hand sanitizer and soap, as well as sanitary and epidemic prevention products. It can be added in laundry detergent to sterilize and disinfect and remove odors. It can also be used in families, hotels, hospitals, restaurants and other places to disinfect and sterilize towels, clothes, fruits and vegetables.
