Methylcyclohexane (cyclohexylmethane) is an organic compound with the molecular formula is C7H14. Classified as saturated hydrocarbon, it is a colourless liquid with a faint odor. It is insoluble in water, miscible with ethanol, ether, benzene and other organic solvents. It does not react with strong acids, strong bases and strong oxidants under normal conditions. However, under the condition of high temperature, high pressure and the presence of catalyst, it can react with oxidation, cracking and isomerisation.
