- Nylon Production: The most important use of cyclohexane is to make adipic acid and caprolactam, which are used to make Nylon 6 and Nylon 6,6.
- Industrial Solvent: Cyclohexane (CAS No 110-82-7) is used to dissolve other substances (like cellulose ethers, fats, oils, waxes, resins and rubbers) in a process where the solvent must not be polar and where the evaporation is controlled.
