What is Sodium Acrylate CAS 7446-81-3?

Sodium Acrylate is a colorless or light yellow crystalline solid; sodium acrylate is easily dissolved in water and forms alkaline solution; it has strong acidity and can react with acid to form salt and with alkali to form salt.  Sodium Acrylate can be used as an important monomer for highly absorbent resins (such as super absorbent resins). It is widely used in personal care products, paper industry, water treatment and so on.

Uses:

• Personal Care Products: Sodium Acrylate is used as a thickening agent in shampoos, conditioners, and body washes.
• Water Treatment: It can be used as a flocculating agent to remove impurities from water.
• Paper and Pulp Industry: Sodium acrylate is used in the production of paper and pulp as a retention aid and drainage improver.
