Sodium Hypochlorite CAS 7681-52-9 is a chemical compound with the formula NaClO. It consists of sodium cations (Na+) and hypochlorite anions (ClO−); it can also be considered the sodium salt of hypochlorous acid. When dissolved in water, it is often called bleach or liquid bleach. A mixture of sodium peroxide (Na2O2) and hydrochloric acid reacts to form sodium hypochlorite, also known as oxone.
