Cyclohexane (CAS 110-82-7) is primarily used as a raw material in the production of adipic acid and caprolactam, which are used in nylon production. In addition, it is used in lubricants, greases and hydraulic oils for machinery and automobiles, fuels, antifreeze, coatings, non-metallic surface treatment agents, adhesives and sealants, as well as inks and toners. In household applications, cyclohexane is also used in laundry detergents/washing liquids, perfumes and air fresheners, food additives, refrigerator coolants, and oil-based electric heaters.

Cyclohexane offers broad industrial utility, yet carries inherent hazards: it is a Category 2 flammable liquid and a Category 3 health hazard if improperly handled.Store cyclohexane liquid in cool, dark, explosion-proof areas below 30°C, well separated from oxidizing agents.
In case of spills, contain and absorb the liquid with activated carbon or diatomaceous earth , do not use water for rinsing, as this may spread flammable material and increase fire risk.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential: wear nitrile gloves and an appropriate gas mask to avoid skin irritation and vapor inhalation.
