What is 2-Ethylhexanoic Acid (2-Eha)?
2-Ethylhexanoic Acid is a colorless and slightly smelly liquid. Flammable, slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water and ether, slightly soluble in ethanol. It can be used as an intermediate in paint and paint drying agents, as a modifier for alkyd resins, to produce peroxides as catalysts for polymerization reactions such as PE, as well as for lubricating oil esters and PVC stabilizers.
Uses of 99% 2-Ethylhexanoic Acid：
1. 99% 2-Ethylhexanoic Acid is mainly used for the preparation of various metal salts, such as zirconium salt, cobalt salt, molybdenum salt and zinc salt, used as a desiccant for paints and coatings.
2. Its ester can be used as raw material of plasticizer.
3. 2-Eha is the raw material of carboxybenzylpenicillin drug and can be used to synthesize other drugs.
4. It is also used in the synthesis of dyes and spices.
