Uses
- In petroleum refining, natural gas processing and other industries, ethanolamine is commonly used to remove acidic components in the gas, such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide, in order to purify the gas and prevent equipment corrosion and environmental pollution.
- It is an important raw material for the preparation of nonionic surfactants and anionic surfactants.
- In the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used as an intermediate in drug synthesis for the preparation of a variety of drugs. At the same time, it can also be used as a solvent and pH regulator for drugs.
- In the paint industry, ethanolamine can be used as neutraliser and co-solvent to improve the performance and stability of paints; in metal working fluids, it can play the roles of rust prevention, lubrication and emulsification; in rubber processing, it is used as vulcanisation accelerator and antioxidant.
