What is Acetyl Chloride liquid CAS 75-36-5?

Acetyl chloride also known as acetic acid chloride, is a colourless liquid with a pungent odour, insoluble in water but miscible with most organic solvents (e.g. ether, petroleum ether, etc.). It is one of the important raw materials for the synthesis of organic compounds and is commonly used in the synthesis of esters, acylated derivatives and acetylation reactions. Acetyl chloride liquid can also be used as modifier, accelerator and cross-linking agent for cellulose, rubber and plastic.
