Gamma-Valerolactone also known as g-Valerolactone, GVL. is a colorless liquid with the odor of water, alcohol and ketone solvents. GVL is widely used in industrial production, mainly as a solvent and medium, but also as a component of coatings, resins, paints and plastics.
Applications of Gamma-Valerolactone：
1. Industrial field: G-Valerolactone can be used as resin solvent and intermediates of various related compounds, as well as lubricant, plasticizer, gelling agent of nonionic surfactant, additive of lactone of leaded gasoline, and can be used in dyeing of cellulose ester and synthetic fiber.
2. Spice field: China GB2760 - 86 provisions for the permitted use of edible spices, mainly used to formulate peach, coconut, vanilla and other types of flavors.
3. Other fields: GVL is a potential fuel and green solvent, which can be obtained from cellulose and other biomass.
