Soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, dichloromethane and dimethyl sulfoxide.It is used as an efficient and mild iodination reagent for the preparation of pharmaceutical intermediates (e.g. iodine-containing aromatic hydrocarbons, heterocyclic compounds).
